I was out about 9 miles this weekend at some of the rigs. I didnt have my gear with me but you could look down and see the rig legs and fish at 30 feet which isn't a normal occurence. The visibility in the Matagorda ship channel jetties when I have dove there has averaged about 15 feet. As was stated thought to get to any good water is gonna be a bit of a boat ride, But me personally I will live in less than splendid conditions because I am so used to Canyon Lake, or Medina lake.
