I've personally done a few dumb things.

On the lighter side:

I once put my leg through the sleeve of my wet suit (hyperstrech!) and almost could not get it off without help.

I forgot to connect my drysuit inflator hose on a recent dive. I start feeling the squeeze and press the button. Nothing. I knew right away what it was and it usually easy to fix underwater, but I had lodged the hose between my plate and my back. My insta-buddy asked if I was ok, so I signaled "hell no!". He was not a drysuit diver so it took a bit of effort to explain to him that he needed to help me fish the inflator hose out.

The next trip I forgot to put my wait belt on until I had already kitted up. Instead of taking it off I tried to snake the belt through the harness behind my back. I broke my wrist slate and was lucky not to rip a seal. The slate fell across the deck, a guy picked it up and saw that there were some sappy love notes written on it. After all the struggling (and embarassment) I was almost overheated before I hit the water.

Funy as apposed to stupid? Ok,

Buddy has an AI computer atached by an HP hose to his first stage. We are diving off a boat with a rather tall deck about 8 feet above the water. His computer to not cliped to his BC and gets wedged into the boat's rail then he does the giant stride. He actualy hangs for a second by the HP hose before the thing rips apart. Of course the ecaping air is makig a lot of noise and many bubbles. He is happy to hear from me that his computer is still attached to the boat. We were able to repair the damage with scronged parts.

Now if you want "stupid" This other buddy bolts to the surface from 100 feet leaving a trail of exaust bubbles below him (Long story but he was OK after a while, still dives)

Yeah, I was like "what the buck"?
There was like 14 threads started by one person. Got to reading them in the Meets and Greets and thought "Gotta be kidding me"?
Someone out to set the new record for 250!

I just saw a tv story on this while diving with my husband in the us virgin islands. I was a little nervous diving with him afterwards.

It apparently happened 5 years ago but there are discrepencies between the husband's story and the info on his dive computer so the Australian authorities haven't closed the case.
