At first it seems like a tragic accident. But a lot of little things don't add up. Too many little things, like saying some one is 5' away and you can't swim to them. Or they are too heavy. And listening to his interview really doesn't add up. I find it curious that the husband was supposed to be an experienced rec diver. He should know that some of what he says doesn't make sense. So why would he say it?
I'm not defending him, he seems pretty guilty. The only way I see for him to not be guilty would be she freaked out and hyperventilated. Her reg wouldn't deliver enough air so she passed out and started to sink. He panicked and lost site of where they were. Here outstretched arms as she sank could only mean she was unconcious as she sank. Him being totally panicked too, forgot his training and made a bunch of poor decisions. Being a control freak he didn't just come out and say "I was in a blind panic, I have no idea what was happening where, I was so scared I just left her." It's possible, but it seems rather unlikely. I could buy that story if there weren't so many inconsistancies in everything related to his recounting of events. And the way he acted afterwards is definately not as a distraught newlywed. Jack |

the computer discrepancy versus his story of rocketing to the surface seems to be some evidence of his possible guilt - computer shows he had a leisurely ascent (2 minutes to go 45 ft)
I googled for more info and found this as well warning graphic pic of her on the bottom - Horrific picture of drowned diver captured in underwater tourist snap - but was it murder? | Mail Online |

Some divers witnessed two divers bearhugging each other, but they didn't think anything about it. Investigators say they belive he grabbed her and turned off her tank and held her down until she was unconcious. Then turned the air back on to seem like her equipment was functioning properly. He then made a very slow ascent. The police say that the person who brought her up did it in a little over a minute, but it took him over two minutes to ascend.

As of January 2008, this tragic event is still under investigation due to conflicting statements that have been given by her husband on several occasions. Tina's husband Gabriel "Gabe" Watson has not returned to Australia since the event nor did he testify during the inquest. He also claimed hundred's of thousands of dollars in insurance money from her death citing "mental anguish" until he was named as a possible murder suspect. Other insurance payments were suspended until the close of the inquest/trial. If the inquest reveals he is guilty in her death, murder charges will likely follow. The Australian cornorer is expected to submit his decision on this case in June 2008.

Im not that experianced a diver but it all sounds like BS to me, compuer batteries backwards but beeping huh? the computers dive log contradicting what he said? the christmas card? removing flowers at the grave yard? 45ft in two minutes? a rescue diver? he is definately lying thats for sure, no doubt...what a horrible story...how sad...I dont understand why he isnt charged on suspicion tho, surely there is enough evidence to at least take it to trial, he lied and there is evidence of that, he had motive and there is evidence of that, he had the means and there is evidence of that...I hope it eventuates in a trial at least...something smells bad here...I mean people have been put on trial with less...
