Did anyone else see the Dateline NBC lastnight?
It was about a drift diving accident at the Great Barrier Reef.
You talk about pissing me off! A newly married couple went a on wreck dive and the husband (who has rescue cert.) left his wife to get help when she was sinking and could not catch up with her to help! Days before they got married....he told her to make him her beneficiary on her life insurance. This guy is a real piece of work! The story is long but worth your time to read it and watch the videos! I saw that as I was flipping through looking for the basketball game after the hockey game was over. I only stopped because it was diving related but then got kind of sucked in to the story until a commercial. I'll have to read the story to see what happened, but ya, seemed like the guy was suspicious at best! The womans father was astute enough to tell her to pretend she changed the policy and beneficiary but not so much that he warned her off the guy? I'd hate to have to live with that thought!

Right fine piece of work this one is. It sounds like they might have him now, anyways it seems like there are way too many shades of truth here to be comftrable. Incidently I did not think you could redially access the battery compartment on most dive computers without tools.

I watched the whole thing last night. Very sad stuff.
The worst was listening to the assistant instructor for her OW class tell about how she said the future husband would kill her if she didn't learn to dive.

I just read the story - very sad and compelling. I look forward to seeing the findings published in June... hopefully they have enough to charge the guy, but I'm sure it will be very hard to prove. Let's hope they get some divers on the jury!
