another diver lost at sea for 24hours

just saw the news and i didn't catch the whole story but a diver off the miami coast was found by the coast guard after being lost at sea for 24 hours. the pilot for the coast guard helo gave the diver credit because he was swimming towards the shoreline and was 2 miles off the coast, BUT the biggest reason they saw him. wait for it .......................

he had his safety sausage inflated and the coast guard stated thats how they saw him!!!!

as to how he became lost and what dive group or boat he was with, they did not say. i was happy the guy was found using the safety sausage we all talk about!!!!

Sounds like he had a fairly rough time of it and still managed to come out ahead. Glad he will be ok.

He had good odds...commercial experienced diver, and lots of fellow firefighters buddies helping coordinate the search. Glad he made it home to his wife and 3 kiddos.

A friend once asked me if I really needed all the stuff I carry...I had just received my smb from ST. I told him that if I never had to use all the safety gear for its inteded purpose then it was still money well spent. Piece of mind goes a long way and you just never know.
