Nope. I am glad that I went to Coz in July. I feel for the people that already have made plans.

I hope the hurricane fizzles out (doubtful) and that the people stay safe

I think I'd cancel the trip. That's what trip insurance is for.

A lot of services and people would be gone. A suspect the dive boats have went elsewhere. I hope you took out trip insurance so you dont get all wet (pun intented)

Dean is headed on a path to provide cheap air and hotel to many an island destination. Look for travel deals in two weeks. Let's just pray that no one else is injured. Also, PLEASE keep the reefs safe.

Okay, look for the travel deals. You have to look for the positive.

Ok..here is someone who was there. I flew down last Thursday. It was too early to think that trip insurance would pay if I cancel especially when the storm is that far out.

We dove Friday. Friday night they announced our dive op was still diving on Saturday, but other dive ops were pulling their boats. Our hotel dropped under our hotel room doors a note around 10:30pm that said that the island was on a tropical storm watch, and to expect an update at 11:00am the next morning.

I got up early Saturday morning, couldn't find a flight for Sunday, so booked a flight home for that afternoon. Cost me $200 plus an overnight in Charlotte, NC for another $100.

I consider myself lucky and got off cheap. All we can do now is hope is that they suffer minimal damage so that we have a place to continue to visit and that our friends down there are safe and get through this ok.

It would be very unfortunate if Coz got hit bad again. Let's hope this isn't another Wilma.

My guess is that they would rather visitors just go home and let them prepare for the storm and be with their families.

Also, it looks like the the models are showing the storm heading south of Cozumel http://www.weatherunderground.com/tr...l.html#a_topad.
