No way would I consider a dive like that. Cold, remote, night, deep... I know my limitations, wow...
There are some dives I'd like to do, deep wreck dives, caves look way cool but I will log some time, get more training and not even consider until I am totally confident in myself. my gear, AND my buddy.
Sooo glad you all made it out alive, and I am hoping this diver will wake up and smell the coffee before his ego kills him.

Chamber used to be 1.5 times max depth and then follow the chart from there. I have to dust off cob webs, but I think it was 10 min at 1.5x and then incrementaly from there up to 10' and your 10' time was a biatch: Depending on your original TBT, it was somewhere in the area of 10-12 hours. Your total time while depth and TBT dependant, is in the area of 24-28 hours.

Nowdays, with a lot of the new diagnostic toys like dopler and LED microperfusion gizmos, not to mention DAN, they can customize the chamber trip to the individual with things like measurement of microbubbles and the like.

Man, suddenly I feel like I've been diving since the dinosaur days...

I've done a number of cold, deep, dark, long and very, very remote! I'd do it again in a heart beat, they would just have to pay me more.

Type I DCS minimum time in chamber 3 min decent 2:18 treatment
Type II DCS minimum time in chamber 3 min decent 4:45 treatment
AGE minimum time in chamber 9 min decent 5:50

So if I understand (which I probably don't), he is going to be spending a little bit of time in the chamber?

DING! DING! DING! We have a winner! (assuming the dr. thinks its a dcs)
Just remember this is what I was told in regards to a commercial set up,
AGE or DCS Chamber to depth call stand by doctor, All hyperberic Doctors can write there own deco table so time can very. The time aslo assume no probles with reoccurence whine in the chamber or taking an O2 hit, if you have problems in the chamber your stay will be longer.

OH yeah, lots and lots of fun! Being stuck in an 8' diameter tube that's 10'-20' long-If you're lucky enough to have access to one of the he big chambers-for hours on end. Unless they have a great HVAC system in it, it's either too hot or too cold and humid as all hades.

The best thing to do in a can is sleep-but that will usually add another hour to your deco. You don't breath as deep and your systems slow down so you don't off gas as well. We won't even mention if you're even a little claustrophobic, you're best bet is sedation.

I plan on spending my diving career trying to avoid "The Can!"

I would absolutely drive myself crazy in one of those things. I find it hard just sitting through a class that's an hour and half long, but if i had to do a chamber the classes would seem like a breeze.
