scuba diver drowns at Lake Pleasant

Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a scuba diver who died Sunday morning at Lake Pleasant.
Details were scarce, but Matteson said the incident occurred about 9:15 a.m. as the man was scuba diving in area of the lake known as Desert Tortoise.
At that time, "he had some sort of trouble - possibly medical trouble," Matteson said.
It remains unclear what caused the man's death and the investigation is ongoing.

We are a relatively small community here in the desert but first I heard of it. You don't know his name?

My prays are with his family. A month or so ago we had a guy walk across a small set of falls to go fishing on the other side. This was near or right after dark. He sliped fall and never came up. We live in a small homeowners assc. and the cos and divers use our boat ramp to get to him. Most of the people standing by watching keep asking why they where taking so long to get in the water. I nicely told them that scuba divin is not a safe acctivity when just diving. They seemed to understand. I explained to them that you must check everything one wrong hooked up hose or loose strap could be bad. I also explained that they where not diveing looking for a surviver that is was infact a recovery mission. They found the guy at 1.30 about 4 hours after the first respondes arrived. I will hand it to them 2 to 10 feet deep mud filled water that is zero vis. I spoke with one of the divers the next day when they came by to finish every thing up. I think they where doing some training to empty there tanks I told him i planned to get my cert. I guest they where getting alot flak for moving slow. I told him i understood I might not have my cert card but i understand you do not rush this sport. Does any one know if he was solo or had a buddy.
