Discover scuba

Group of folks on a "discover scuba" dive. Quite the observant instructor.

OK everyone..... descend to the bottom and stand on the reef until I check you out. Don't worry about securing your equipment this is not really important since we will be shallow. That's right, safety first.....

Great, everything just as planned. Who wants to sign up?

Either that or PADI has introduced the use of bottom stages into its Discover Scuba Class. It would be better if it was side mounted, but back mounted seems to be working for him.

On the plus side, I give them credit for truth in advertising These people probably ARE experiencing the way they will learn to dive if they take OW with this instructor.

I do feel bad for the coral in this video. It is always annoying to have people come over to your house and stand on your head!

Stuff like this really upsets me. My first Discover Scuba Diving experience was two years before I got certified. It took me two years to even think about giving scuba diving a try again. The dive operators who took me out did a worse job than this guy. I lived by just dumb luck; I had equipment failure and did JUST enough right things, for all the wrong reasons, to survive. I don't know if the girl shivering, twitch and unconscious in the bow of the boat lived.

I really worry this guy is going to kill someone (if he hasn't already).

All of them are over weighted. No one is using their BC, what a crappy dive experience.

Yeah, I noticed everyone looks to be wearing two 10 pound weights on their belts. TWENTY pounds for a warm water dive in shorties? I think not.

Maybe the instructor should sign up for the "understanding what the you're doing" specialty.
