Whats the craziest thing you have seen a diver do?

Mine, well a new diver, paniced and SPIT HER REG out and fought for the surface!

Never had an experience with a crazy diver like that. As simple as it is, I HATE to see a diver with an octo dangling. It bugs the CRAP outta me, and all I want to do is go tuck it in for them....must, resist, the, urge....

ANDI teaches that you never let our octo trail! and a good dive buddy will tuck it in for you, because they may depend on that octo should something go bad!

Don't worry, my buddies NEVER do it (I make sure), I can't say the same for others on the boat though...

In my early days of diving, I was with a group in a lake in Austria. It was her first time below 30 feet. She hit the thermocline, right around 35 and started getting a bit bug-eyed. By the time we hit 50 (slow descent wile paralleling the shore/slope) she lost it and shot up like a balloon with the power inflated held down all the way up.

Don't know how, but she was OK. She wouldn't even talk to us the rest of the day.

There was the time in the Red Sea when a complete stranger swam up to me and ripped my reg from my mouth. He was out of air at about 60 ft and trying to survive.

My favorite is a diver in FL that found a boat anchor at about 50 ft. He picked it up and carried it by ballooning his BC. Evidently he wanted to keep the anchor. After about 5 minutes, I guess his arms got tired so he dropped the anchor. As he went flying by me, I grabbed his foot and started dumping my air. He was dumping air too, so we only went up about 10 ft.

My buddy once took his gear off and rode his tank like a horse for the diver who was doing some filming. Still haven't seen the film, however.. I know it wasn't part of an incident or accident but it was pretty darn funny.

I had a diver in the Keys just about knock everyone off of the anchor line in order to make a quick ascent. Never heard if he was low on air or just an impatient jerk !!!
