It is always sad when any life is lost, no matter how it was done. But this hits home a little more for all of us here when it’s one of our fellow divers. I say one of OUR fellow divers because every one of us would help another diver if they needed it. Even if we had never meet before, so it is sad when we lose a fellow diver in this way. I know we all wish we could have been there to help, but that was not the case this time. So our thoughts and harts go to our friend and his family in this time. We also hope that next time we might be there to help the next friend in need.

Too bad indeed, it is always a tragic affair when someone passes diving or otherwise.

The article is very vague and he was diving alone, not necessarily a solo diver, there is a difference.

Every loss of a diver makes me think about my diving practices, the hazards we face, and the safety lessons to be learned.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Sorry to hear this. The frustrating thing about news reports (though understandable) is the lack of information that would help other divers not make the same mistake. I recognize that this is not the reporter's goal.

Have to wait for the DAN annual report or a witness usually to get some insight into the problem.
