Fear of Flames

I might have a lesson learned story or two, but am VERY hesitant to share anything for fear of being flamed, roasted, scolded, and trashed for doing something stupid. Seems even tho we might try to say up front that we've figured out where we went wrong, and we're only sharing our stupidity so that others (newbies or not) can learn from our mistakes, we get a serious tongue lashing...

at least that's how it has worked in other scuba formums I've tried posting in.

are there any "rules" for this Accidents forum? maybe Larry or Joe can add a "No Flame - Lesson Learned" forum?

So you get flamed, if the story might help someone else avoid troubles, post it!

I'm not saying it can't happen here, but the flame level is pretty low. It's the reason many of us came here. We were tired of hearing "USE THE SEARCH", and "THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED ALREADY".

Cavediver.net has a section where "incidents" can be reported anonymously.I think that is a good idea.

ST is as close to a flame free environment as you can get. Tell us your lesson learned story.

Very friendly group of guys. Very few flames here. If you truly learned something I can't see really getting flamed. This is so completely different than any other forum. Hang out a bit and you'll see what we mean.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. In these forums, you're more likely to get a "Yea, I did that dumb thing too!! " than any negative reaction.

But please share! We noobs need to hear these things!

You should never have a fear of being flammed here on this board. We watch pretty close and don't let things get too far out of hand. If you were to get flammed just hit the report button and it will be taken care of very quickly.
