Boyington inlet dive boat accident
I just got a call from someone in the area, that said one of the dive boats coming back in yesterday got pitchpoled (end over end) and that all on board were in the hospital...
Anyone know any more about this? The news report was typically rather senseless. Note: I'm not much of a thread starter, but having been in and out of that inlet a lot, the thoughts of what that must have been like is a real nightmare. It was, I believe, a 28 ft boat, and I can only assume (guessing here), that they got on a wave that pushed the bow into the bottom and then the wave threw them over. |

Thanks... makes no sense that they would be coming back at 9:30am, unless: 1. The time is wrong. 2. They were going out (which would be about the right time). 3. They went out, call the diving and headed back in. But, if the tide was low, and the waves big..it is possible to hit bottom there... with very nasty results...hope everyone recovers from this. |

According to their website they leave @ 8am..Which sounds like they might have gotten one dive in and were heading back in. Not sure why they decided to go out as most charters haven't been due to some serious waves and rough conditions. But defintely hope everyone comes out ok and quickly!
