I read an story of a guy that surfaced in calm water because he was sheltered from the wind by the boat. He took out his reg and removed his mask, the boat turned and instantly caused waves to hit him and he sucked down a ton of water, they boat captain saw what happened and got to him quickly but they still could'nt revive him. He died on the way to the hospital. I wonder if this could have been a similar incident, just no one saw him drowning? You tend to think of accidents only occuring under water, this made me realize that just because you have surfaced near the boat you still need to keep your wits about you!

Attacked by sharks or something along the lines of heart attack would be the plausible cause... don't know if an autopsy will reveal what happened or not. All they do know is the body had been mauled by sharks in the day it took them to find it. Becuase of this, I don't think the comment in the article is out of place at all... and I'm sure the family already knows what condition the body was found in. Really, losing a family member like that on vacation, the condition of the corpse is the least of your concerns. I couldn't imagine what it'd be like to be in that situation... ![]() |
