YOU SAW WHAT? Post your "I didn't see it, but everyone else on the boat did stories"

So I just got back from trying to see Lemon Sharks in Jupiter FL. I had a camera and was the last one in the water. Had to wait at the surface until someone handed me my camera from the boat, while everyone was already descending. I got separated from the group and thought I would take some photos on my own. When I got to the boat everyone was talking about how cool it was to see so many Lemon Sharks, of which I saw none. I was too preoccupied with trying to figure out my new camera, that I completely missed out.

The funny thing is upon review of some of phots, you can see the sharks swimming in the background.

Anyone else have a "I'm a blind loser" story?

Look in the top middle background of the photo. Is that a shark I'm missing?

I was on a dive once which we had two groups. One group went one way and my group the in the opposite direction. The other group had the chance to see a very large Great White and my group saw nothing as exciting.

We went whale watching on a live aboard, and toward the end of the week folks were tired, so right before dinner only 3 of us went out. Dolphins followed our boat and the camera guy and I bailed out at full speed to swim with the dolphins.

Then, we found a sleeping Humpback Whale. We eased into the water and were watching it and then it woke up and almost swam right into me! The people back on the boat were disappointed that they stayed back. We got great video!

What I say about diving and hunting-you gotta be out there to see stuff.

Thor, besides the fish story of the one that got away, how was your trip? Hope you had a good time.

We all have those stories. Luck, I guess.

Trip was good. I'll bring a buddy next time (that's another story) to make me turn around and look at the sharks that are clearly right behind me. Hey, any day in the ocean, swimming with the "fishes" is a good day. Saw two huge goliath groupers hanging out together that looked like they could swallow me whole.

Should we try harder next time?
