Just got back from Maldives

What a fantastic trip. I spent a week on the liveaboard the Manthiri, the boat was a little older than some of the others that I have stayed on (the accomadations were more than fine), but the staff, the food and the dive master Moosa are some of the best you will find. The variarty of sea life was unbelievable we saw everything from the smallest shimp at cleaning stations and nudibranchs to whale sharks and most everything in between. With the flying formations of eagle and manta rays swimming overhead and the schools of tuna being some of the highlights of the big animals. The eels were more than plentiful with a couple of unsuspecting divers getting biten as they weren't paying attention as they were taking pictures of something else. Watching octopus swimming and then hiding in the coral to getting very up close and personal with a hugh napoleon wrasse that just wanted to hang out with the divers. Towards the end of the week you realize that you have taken way too many pictures of eels, clown fish and lion fish as you saw them on every dive, now that is something that doesn't happen too often.

There are thousands of tiny and I mean tiny little islands that you pass throughout the week, with schools of dolphins swimming by. The crew caught grouper, tuna and sailfish off the back of the boat throughout the week insuring we had plenty of fresh fish.

The water was 84% and the air about 88% to 95% everyday. This was one of the best dive trips that I have ever had with the variety of sealife you get to see while only wearing a 3/2 wetsuit. There are a lot of current dives so be aware, they can be some of the best if you are prepared.

If you get a chance I would recommend this as one of the your dive trips, you will not regret it. I hope to get back there someday.
