funny thing irony , with a name like that i think it be safer to ask than to find out the hard way and have the fbi/nsa do some sort of check on me and my website chronicles than i really would be in hot water !!!
but seriously i rarely travel with a blade just a line cutter, but this trip i thought it would be a good idea to ask about one and to bring it since i will be in some open water. the idea of being locked up in some jail overseas just would put a damper on the end of a great trip ( i hope). so hence the question.
They have better things to do I wasnt saying anything against your question or name. Its a good question that even I didnt really know the answer to, untill I looked at TSA's website.

i wasn't bustin on you or anything, just having fun. i always carry a minium of 12 knives and a katana on a dive trip in case i run into some smart mouth grouper that i want for sushi!!!!

the saying goes for condoms, guns and knives. i also believe someone has it listed as their signature from aliens vs predator movie

" a gun is like a condom, better to have one and not need it than need one and not have it" same hold true about my knives!!!! no hard or insulted feelings, say wanna go diving sometime????

I have traveled to Bahamas, Cayman, Punta Cana and the Maldives over the couple of years and I have never had any trouble with knives in checked luggage. I have a small knive that attaches to my BC (which I leave attached while traveling) and another that I strap to my leg, which I put into my folded BC when I travel. In all of my dives I have never had a need to use either, which is a good thing.

I have never had any problems on planes with my knives. As a chef, i often travel with large quantities of large knives in a knife roll. Never had any issues. One time in europe, they required that my knives travel on a different flight than me.....but that was once in traveling with knives in 20 years.

No problem on our last trip. TSA left "check notices" in our bags both ways, but no problems with the knives.

I left my big ol' pig sticker at home and just brought my shears/stilletto which are mounted on the Ranger. My son has a little 3" BC knife on a waist holster.
