It'll be a good idea to print the pages harb99 linked for you and carry that with you. A lot, (most some would say), TSA agents don't know their own regulations/restrictions and having that information readily available can save you time and trouble.

that is what I did for our trip in case something weird came up when going through security - but I checked my BC with small knife and shears so I wasnt too worried about anything like that

Went to ST. Lucia this spring. Two BC knives and no problems in checked bags.
