I have not seen anything in the local media about that rumor and would seriously consider it to be inaccurate. Southwest has their corporate HQ in Dallas and effectively is Love Field. They have nothing at DFW, so for them to leave this market would be huge news.

Aloha airlines went out of business april 1st or 2nd.
ATA went under april 4th
both of these airlines service Hawaii
we were in Hawaii when these both went belly up. we heard of people paying 3,000 dollars to get off the island. sad.

From what I gathered from SKybus, most of the reason is because of rising full costs.

Champion bit the dust.

Frontier didn't file chapter 7, its chapter 11. They continue to fly unlike the others and I expect they will cut a deal with First data to keep flying.
