Need Info...on Park Royal, Cozumel

We are planning to stay at Park Royal, Cozumel in June 08.

Have you ever stayed there? Do they have an on-site dive group? If so, would you recommend? Was your experience there pleaseant or you would not recommend?

Normally, we stay at Allegro, but the hotel has been under a massive renovation and are expected to re-open in May 08. However, we were not successful in booking w/ Allegro. So, our Travel Agent suggested Park Royal.

We have thought about renting a car and diving w/ a different shop, but I need some guidence.

Thanks for your help!

Not So.........

My wife and I just returned from Cozumel and we stayed at the Park Royal. Great all inclusive resort. We stayed there because Patty does not dive and she wants a great resort to hang out at while I am out diving. Great pools and beach, the buffet restaurants are just OK, the ala carte restaurants are very good. All in all, she says it was nice and wants to stay there on our next trip to Cozumel in October 08.

Not at all like the Allegro, but a very nice resort. My dive op was willing to pick me up at the pier at the Park Royal with no problems.

The in house dive op is Aquaworld and I can not recommend them at all. They are focused on beginners and cruise ship passengers, and they "dumb down" the entire experience.

Feel free to send me a PM for more details and comments.

read through the coz dive op posts...of which there are plenty...
3-5 keep rising to the top...Blue Angel, Blue XTC, Aldora...etc. lots of opinnions, lots of good advise.
Plenty of the dive ops will pick you up at your hotel dock.

Send a message via Yahoo to georoc01
Next door and across the street from Casa Del Mar is Del Mar aquatics, who I have used and found them to be a good dive op as well.

Thanks for the info!! I was beginning to worry we had not picked our resort very well. We are traveling w/ our 4 year old (my father is coming along as the Nanny.)

Bill, I have a few other questions; which I will PM shortly. Thanks Again!

Park Royal

Park Royal has a dive group that uses their pier. They do not offer a discout to resort guest, unless you book the resort thru them.
They offer free shore diving (I seem to recall)

Close buy is "Dive with Martin" cheapest, "Blue Angel" also cheap.

Park royal is vey nice. you have to walk under the main road to get to he water.
