Nice octopus! I FINALLY got to see not only one, but 4 or five on one night dive in Cozumel Saturday night. Those things are crazy looking/acting!

No,no. That is not how I take pictures. Actually, I left him for a long while and went and hovered way off to the side. He popped his head up and jut stayed, coming out of his hole even more. I then went off and took pics elsewhere, came back, and he was just "hanging out". Further he was in a wide open area and could have left at anytime.

Know that if you are patient and gentle enough, octopus are quite curious creatures.

I've really never been able to corner an octo. When you have an animal that fast that can squeeze into a 1 inch hole in the coral, cornering is normally not the way you will get a good octo experience. Time, patience, keeping your light not directly on them, wiggling a finger so they want to come "shake hands" with you... that is normally the secret.

By the way - great pictures, and if you haven't posted them in the photo gallery.. Please Do! So others that don't find this thread get a chance to see your friend. Just click on the Photo Gallery link at the top of the page!

So that's how you get an octo to play. I would be slightly apprehensive about letting it shake hands with me

Well if you earn its "trust", if you will, they do become curious themselves

So'okay, I put some of my pics over in the photo gallery. I feel like the little girl with mud on her face at the ball Anywho Larry, I wanted to post one of a seal that I took a few weeks ago, where would I place that as I see no category for it?
