No,no. That is not how I take pictures. Actually, I left him for a long while and went and hovered way off to the side. He popped his head up and jut stayed, coming out of his hole even more. I then went off and took pics elsewhere, came back, and he was just "hanging out".
Further he was in a wide open area and could have left at anytime.Know that if you are patient and gentle enough, octopus are quite curious creatures. |

I've really never been able to corner an octo. When you have an animal that fast that can squeeze into a 1 inch hole in the coral, cornering is normally not the way you will get a good octo experience. Time, patience, keeping your light not directly on them, wiggling a finger so they want to come "shake hands" with you... that is normally the secret.
