Timeshare Recommendations???

Hi all I need some recommendations.

My son and I are going to Bonaire in September but we are getting pressure from the Mrs. and the girls to also plan something they will enjoy. I wondered if anyone has some specific time share recommendations so we could perhaps rent someone's timeshare where...

1.) Caleb and I could dive (yes we are still going to Bonaire but this would give us another trip)

2.) There are LOTS of activities for non-divers.

3.) There is a sand beach and some snorkeling.

4.) The travel costs wouldn't kill us (from Nebraska).

Thanks in advance for your help.

Just a quick claifier,

I don't own a timeshare but have noticed if you are flixible, you can regularly pick up a week at one for WAY less than someone actually paid for it in the first place.

Believe it or not, E-Bay has timeshares on sale. Look under realestate.
What you have to be aware of is fixed or flexible time. fixed time will allow you to have the timeshare for the same time every year. So if you take your vacation at the same time every year, then this is OK. If you prefer a different time each year, then make sure your time is 'floating'. You should also be able to trade your 'home base' with other locations throught the world, to enhance your vacation and diving experience.
My time share is based in Las Vegas,(high demand), and I have traded it for vacations in Boracay (Philippines), Tagatay (Philippines), Mactan Is. (Philippines), Orlando, Fl., Willliamsburg Va.. and have the whole world available to us through exchanges.
I have seem timeshares available in places like Branson Mo., and some places I have never heard of. These places have a lower trade-ability. High market areas like Orlando, Las Vegas, Hawaii have high trade value, and are easier to exchange.

Morritts on the east End of grand Cayman would work for you apart from

" 2.) There are LOTS of activities for non-divers"

How about the Yucatan? Lots of diving and Mayan ruins for non divers (Or Cancun T shirt shops if that is more your taste!)

I was thinking of the Yucatan as well. Probably can find some deals on airfare depending on where you need to travel out of too.

Other options I was thinking would be Florida or Southern California.

Anything else is really going to kill you on airfare with a family.

It is very cheap to rent someone's time share- a great way to go
there are a couple websites where owners list their rental weeks reasonably, vrbo and tug
I agree with you ianrr33 (I own a Morritt's timeshare)- it's really low key

Redweek.com has rentals for timeshares too.
Be aware that a lot of the timeshares in Cancun are also A/I (all inclusive) which can be great BUT canbe quite expensive.

The wife and I own 1 week at the Royal Sands (Cancun) and 2 weeks at the Royal Hacienda (playa del Carmen). The website below is one we and a lot of other owners use to rent their spots. The hacienda is the newest and still under construction, I think they are about done. The hacienda I know has a dive boat park right at the resort, and it is also very close to cozumel. Hope this helps. I can't say enough good things about Royal Resorts. Mexicondo / Royal Resorts / Cancun Mexico / Vacation Rentals
and Royal Resorts, The best vacation ownership in Cancun
