cabo/ensenada
taking a cruise in sept and this is out stops just was wondering what to expect. i hear cabo has good sites to dive and see but i also been told ensenda is a dump and unsafe to be.
just looking for more info on the two stops and options. also do we need to bring our own gear or is gear added into the price they charge... and if it is is it cheaper if you bring your own. its our first cruise so all info in gen about what to expect on a cruise is welcome also and i will not say your hijacking the topic ![]() |

I'll be in cabo in july and will post a report , we are bringing our own gear with us only renting tanks and lead, prefer my own reg, computer-as I have found out most of the dive shops will rent gear and at a discount if you dive with them. I have decided to use amigos del mar as was suggested by another member, some body told me that they were very close to the cruise ship docks this may help, good luck on you trip and have fun

Hi, I can't speak to diving in Cabo- haven't been there. However, you should check out the boards on cruisecritic.com. There is more cruise-related information on there than you could ever need- port info, cruiselines, etc. They also have a specific board for scuba and snorkeling where I'm sure people will have experience diving in Cabo while on a cruise. In general, there should be dives offered by the cruiseline- they will usually include equipment. But you should ask about specific operators in the area.
Have fun!! |

I would ask the DIve op you chose about their rental gear. Amigos Del Mar has good/well maintained rental gear and it is nice to not have to schlep your gear around. I think the rental gear adds an extra $20 on to the dive price, that's less than you pay to check your gear on the airplane. Have fun.
