where in Indonesia are you? You are surrounded by some of the best diving in the world.
I have been to the North Sulawesi area multiple times (Bunaken, Bangka Island, Lembeh Straits); it is outstanding. Manado is the closest airport to this diveing. I've also been to Raja Ampat twice (including Halmahera, Mayu Island) - Sorong on Papua is usually the point of departure for Raja Ampat. And southern Sulawesi has Wakatobi, a very popular resort. Southern Indonesia also has some great diving (Bali, Komodo, Flores, Ambon comes to mind); but I haven't tried any of those locations yet. And Sangalaki off the east coast of Bornea has some good diving. Check out my pictures on Flickr (link in my signature) - shows an example of what you can see in Indonesia. Enjoy, and dive safe. |
