We only have 5 spots left for the 3 day trip Aug. 1,2,3 (Fri, Sat & Sun). 11 Dives, food & drinks included (Beer $1) and awesome diving.
This trip runs 2 weeks before the annual coral spawn that draws Mantas and Whale Sharks. Great weekend get away!!

When the beer starts flowing, the dives stop going!!!

After sitting on ice all day the beer will be very cold and lonley and need special attention.

Does ST arrange this trip annually? What is prime diving season for The Flower Gardens in The Gulf, July-August (seems like that's when most all of Gulf Diving's trips are)?

The original plan was for ST to try to book the whole boat or 1/2 and offer the trip to the customers. Because of the crowded schedule and a late start it never panned out this year. If all goes well I believe this will be offered next year by ST as an official trip. I had planned to go and asked Joe if it could be posted on the forum to give others a chance to join in a great "local" dive trip plus get to hang out with other forum members.

The best time to go is subjective as far as what you want from the trip...

During the spring season Hammerheads are a big attraction at the Flower Gardens and Stetson Bank but the water temps are chilly (Low 70's).

Mid-summer (warm water mid-low 80's) around the third week of August the coral spawns witch is a very unique event to be able to see. This time of year draws Mantas and Whale Sharks as well lots of fish of all types and sizes.

Late summer (warm water mid-low 80's) wateris great diving but tends to bring the chance of tropical storms witch makes the chances of rougher seas and cancellations increase.
