I just got back from a trip out on The Len-Der and we hit The Milwaukee Car Ferry, The Willie, and The #6 Dredge. All of them were awesome... I was not as impressed with The Milwaukee because of lot of it is caving in on its self and the vis was not the best at the time at about 15 to 20, that is better than vis around me most of the time so I was impressed until we did the rest of the dives. We were moored to the front of the ship, and we did not make it all the way to the back. I would have liked to seen the flood gates, train cars, and the props. Maybe next time though. Then we headed out to The Willie (Prins Willem V) for out second dive, there we had 40 to 50 ft of vis and I really lilked that wreck. Lots to see and some really nice swim throughs. Then on Sunday we did the #6 Dredge first which was another awesome dive. It neet to see it sitting where it is upside down, which made for some interesting views. Then for the sencond dive on Sun we went back to The Willlie, which ended up being a better dive thna the first time we were there. Just got to see a little more and spent a little more time in the water.
I am not sure of the surface temp I would guess in the upper 60's, bottom temp ranged from 45* to 50*, with vis ranging from 10 - 50. Jerry with The Len-Der is awesome. Very knowledgeable, and very nice guy. He has been on the Lake for a very long time. If you want to make a trip to Lake Michigan I certainly recommend Jerry and The len-der. Phil |
