The OP asked for luxury for his non-diving wife... there is a big difference between nice and luxury.

I guess after spending some nights on the Great Escape and Peace dive boats, El Cantil did seem like luxury dive accomodations to me. Seriously it is a problem at many good dive areas (Coz, Curacao, Bonair, AC Belize, etc) to find a luxury dive resort. The main criteria for good diving is a reef out in the ocean. Most luxuary resorts want nice wide white sand beaches. Grand Cayman and Turks and Caicos have nice luxury resorts (and high prices!) and great reefs.

we are in agreement there! (we are heading out to spend a few nights on the GE boat again shortly). Small world.
When we go on a dive trip, luxury is not a consideration, but I fully understand that some divers are married to non-divers and need something to keep them entertained. We, on the other hand, spend all our time diving or diving! It's nice being married to someone who is as passionate about diving as you are.
