Better viz? Gee, where did you dive on Maui? We go to Maui every year and have only had viz less than about 60' once, and that was after it had rained there for like 45 straight days.
It isn't uncommon for divers to not like diving Hawaii. It is a totally different type of reef system and a lot of the critters are tiny and an excellent dive guide makes all the difference in the world. Personally, I LOVE diving Maui and go every year. But I agree, more details would be great. |

We go to Maui every Christmas and we always book charters with Ed Robinson's. They cater to intermediate to advanced divers and we find that their crew treats us as responsible divers. We like them so much that we drive from Kaanapali Beach to Kihei every morning to catch the boat (about a 45 min. drive at 5:30am).

We're going to Maui in Sept. for the third time and always have had good vis and excellent shore dives. Its a great mix of diving, doing a number of boat dives and then getting off on your own to explore the caves and such.We've used Ed Robinson and always been treated great. The water is a little cooool.

I agree
I dove with B&B on Maui http://www.bbscuba.com/. It was a great trip to Molokini. I also did some good shore dives with Shaka Doug http://www.shakadivers.com/. I also dove the Big Island with Jack's Diving Locker http://www.shakadivers.com/. The night Manta dive was awesome
I enjoyed Maui and the Big Island, but the water is clearer and warmer in Grand Cayman. |

I not dived Maui, but I dived Kauai and the diversity and density of fish, far exceeded the caribbean. Is Maui so different from Kauai?
In addition, the only challenges with visibility were in snorkeling, not really in diving. Is this typical for Maui, or was there something going on? |
