Of the three mentioned above I only have been to Ambergris Caye, Belize. The diving off San Pedro is above average, though boat rides are very short (5-10 minutes max). Outer atolls are better for diving but more remote and expensive. Outside of diving there isn't much to do on the atolls, unlike in San Pedro there are places to go eat and hang out.
If Ambergris Caye is your option, consider Sunbreeze resort and Amigos Del Mar dive operator. We didn't stay at the Sunbreeze but checked out the place and it is very diver-oriented. Plus it is located near mid-town, though the town is small. I used Amigos Del Mar, and they are top notch. |
