Diving in Brazil

I may have an opportunity to travel to Brazil in Sept. Naturally, the first thing I did was to check out the dive opportunities in the area! There looks to be a few really nice locations, but I'm not sure whether any of them are day trips or whether they require an overnight stay. In addition, many of the dive shops have websites in Portuguese.

Can anyone share any diving experiences in Brazil? I'll be staying near Porto Alegre. Is there a preferred dive operation?
