Diving Desecheo Island, Puerto Rico

My parents live in upstate New York and they escape the harsh winters to the West Coast of Puerto Rico, outside of Rincon, every year. I usually try to fly down and visit them for a long weekend, but I've never gone diving there.

I'm going to be visiting in late-January this year, and was thinking of chartering a boat out to Desecheo Island for the day. I'm looking for a dive shop that will offer a charter, plus a Discover Scuba program for my brothers, who are also flying down to visit but who are not certified, and a reliable tank of nitrox for me...

I saw online that Taino Divers offers charters, but I was wondering if anyone out there could point me to the best dive shop, or, if there are any other, better, scuba sites on the West Coast that I should check out instead of Desecheo. I appreciate any help I can get!

That looks fantastic, I don't know how I'm going to wait for January! And seems like the crew used Taino Divers too, so probably a reliable charter.

I noticed the video because I'm going on a Nekton liveaboard trip in December that departs from west Puerto Rico and will probably stop at Desecheo on the way to Mona Island.

It will be my first liveaboard and I'm really looking forward to it, too.
