Glad it all helped. I know it sure helped me out. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go start packing stuff up right now. Don't leave till Sunday, but why wait!

I had my gear seized on a RCL cruise ship once because they mistook the scuba tool in my save a dive kit for a knife. I had to meet security in the cargo hold and watch while they opened the bag and searched it. Once they realized there was no knife, they released the gear.

That's no good. I hear all I need to do is declare my knife once aboard and they'll hold it for me when I'm aboard the ship and let me have it when I get off the ship to go diving. Seems like a pretty easy procedure for me. I'm sure, though, it'll probably sound a lot easier than it actually is. Oh well, time to learn for everything.

From what I'm told, all I need to do is declare my dive knife once onboard and they'll keep it for me until I need to go off the boat for my dive. Probably sounds a lot easier than it'll be. Oh well, time for learning for everything.

Just returned from our third cruise. No one ever bothers me about my dive knife, I doubt any of the cruise lines care if you have it either. I suppose one could always go to one of the restaurants on board and grab a steak knife to dive with if needed.

I guess restrictions may have relaxed, but last year in our cruise knives were not allowed to be on the ship in your possession. You had to check them when you boarded and were given back to you when you left the ship.
