Both?
I am lucky this year as I am going on my first salt dive to Coz in July. I am also planning on diving on my Honeymoon in Maui in late September. I am really excited about both but will prob have a better dive experiance in Coz. The group I am going with booked Dive with Martin for Coz - I dont have a outfit booked for Maui yet - could use suggestions.

My wife and I dove Kauai last December (08) and really enjoyed the shore dives (well, shore "dive" - Koloa Landing). We've been diving in Curacao, St. Croix, and Playa Del Carmen and both of our favorite dives was Shareton Caverns on South Kauai. Tons of huge turtles, saw a Hawaiian Monk Seal. It was just cool. Funny, my favorite all-time dive was the one I almost skipped because the entire surface interval I spent floating next to the dive boat feeding the fish! But knew once I got under I'd be fine, I hate that feeling! Since then I've gotten the patch for sea-sickness but didn't need it last trip since it was all shore diving in Curacao. (I digress)
We really like to shore dive at our own pace so Maui was looking good to us. We were looking at Maui or Cozumel this year ourselves. We love Hawaii so much, but also like the thought of a quick, less-expensive all dive oriented trip to Cozumel. For what it costs for 1 person round-trip from Kansas City (where we fly out of) to Maui, we can get almost 2/3 of entire Coz vacation. Roatan is a real desire also but just can't find a trip as cheap as Coz. Plus, we have never been there before, at least not since we became certified. |
