Catalina Island in August

Hi,
We are headed to Catalina Island in August and want some suggestions for good dives, lobster catches, and places to stay. Ideally, we are hoping for a house swap or something not hotel-like. Recommendations Welcome!

Check out Catalina.com for ideas on places to stay. The Avalon Dive Park is a great place to get your feet wet, per se, and check out some things the area has to offer. If you want to hunt for lobster, however, don't take it from the park... there are two boats that leave Avalon every day that can take you to places where hunting is permitted: The Scuba Cat and the King Neptune. Both are run by full dive shops right on the island, and either should be able to help you find what you need. I recommend dropping them a line.
