Well technically you need a visa for all of them, however in my experience sailing in the Caribbean a visa is obtained at customs upon entry to the foreign soil. In many of the cases listed above not much more than a man in a hut with a stamp asking for $20 and a smoke if ya have one.

Roatan / Utila Honduras?- You don't need a visa, but you do need a passport valid for at least 90 days PAST your exit date. You also need to show you have an exit i.e. a plane ticket etc...

Bahamas?- You don't need a visa, just your passport. If you're panning on staying a while they may ask you to prove your financial able to support yourself.

Bonaire?- You don't need a visa, you need a passport and a return ticket showing what date you're leaving

Dutch Antilles?- No visa, just a passport for stays of less then 90 days

Caymen Islands?- You do not need a visa for stays less then 30 days, just a US Passport. Upon checking prices at the local restaurants, bars and shops you might want a Visa, Mastercard and Amex.

This all assumes you're a US citizen living in the US at the time of your travel. These are for travelers arriving by plane. Cruise line travelers only need a passport. If you're doing some sailing many of these places require you to state your departure date upon anchor.

You don't need a visa to travel to any of those destinations.... just a passport. So far the only country that I have been to requiring a visa to be purchased prior to leaving the US was China.

I just got back from Cambodia and while they do require a visa, you can actually buy one upon landing at the Phnom Penh airport.

I believe Australia requires one before arrival but you can do it online with a credit card. It's also good for a year and multiple entries.

Many places operate like this, Mexico being one. I live here so I have an FM3 resident visa. Costs me about $90 a year and I can come and go as I please. But most people arriving by plane are given a tourist visa (FMT) that's good for up to 180 days and costs roughly $20.

I should note it's important to be liberal with your departure date. By that I mean on the form they ask "how long will you be visiting Mexico?" If you put down the exact date of your return ticket if you get bumped and stay even one extra day you can have problems when you leave as your visa will be expired. Most of the time it's not an issue. But, like many things here, it can depend solely on the mood of the customs person you end up dealing with. Before moving here I always filled my tourist visa out to say I would be staying several months. It does'nt cost any more and then you're covered.

Supposedly you need an exit plan for Honduras, but I'm here to tell you that I have talked to many a traveler, and including myself and wife that had zero plans for leaving and no plane ticket back, and not a word was said about it... You can get the 90 day visa extended by 30 days by paying a small fee... Also, a couple hundred lempira to the customs officer might even be enough to get your 90 day visa renewed without leaving the country.

There are many people that have been here much longer than 90 days without leaving, some over a year...

Good Info - Thanks.

BTW I had my Foreign travel security Brief today which confirmed no need for a Visa to Honduras.
