Breezes Resort - Curacao

Has anybody done the all-inclusive resort at Curacao? We can get a pretty sweet deal on a week at the resort, but definitely want to do some diving while we are there.

I'd love some feedback on both the resort as well as the diving found around there...

Thanks!

YES, GO THERE!! this may be a long response but want to make sure i give you good info. to start, we were there for our honeymoon in may of 2006. i started my open water cert at home (in indiana) and completed it the first 2 days at breezes. so just fyi, i've only been on 3 dive trips (curacao, cayman and turks and caicos....going to roatan this coming may)
breezes....very clean..the grounds, beach, restaurants, dive boats were amazingly clean. and we never saw anyone ever cleaning the grounds but i'm sure they were.
food - buffets were good. the restaurants were great as well. definately go to the japanese restaurant for a night or two. but like i said the buffett was always good with lots of choices. the beach grill was yummy with fresh to order fish, chicken sandwiches and more for a snack.....but the snack bar by the family pool had "frakandel" (sp?) which is a kind of sausage that was great to snorkel with when we would snorkel within the sea wall. lots of fish....needlefish were really cool and liked the sausage.

diving...great. yes it was my first time but have gone 2 other places since and haven't seen the combo of fish and reefs since. dive site 'tugboat' was great with lots of parrot fish (my first official dive)
MUST GO on the Klein Curacao dive trip. Worth the money!! 2 dives, play time on a small, uninhabited island with lunch cooked for you. awesome!
also another must do side trip is to go to west end to the other ocean encounters dive shop to dive "allison in wonderland" and " mushroom forest'. if you're lucky, your bus will stop at a tiny bar on the way home to buy a beer.

dive shop...sooooo good, they even placed a bottle of champagne at the bottom of the ocean floor on one of our dives as a "wedding gift". very thoughtful, fun and informative divemasters.

breezes (again) the staff was always nice, and the bartenders very generous with the coctails!! (drink up, they're free!!)
norma was awesome and we'd seek her out because she'd always ask if "babylove wants extra vitamins" (which to her meant did we want extra rum in our rum punch!!) nighttime entertainment was pretty good....the 2 or 3 best nights is when "alton" would preform...he sang good old songs like at a wedding reception. but they were great because the atmosphere was so good.

i hope you enjoy your trip. at the dive shop , ask for "anz"...she was awesome.
let me know if there's anything else we can help you with!!

On our honeymoon we did some diving... but our primary focus wasn't diving.

as excited as i was to tell you all about breezes curacao, i should have said even if you don't want it to be a dive vacation it doesn't have to be to enjoy! i know some people made it to town and had fun there.
a side note, when we booked the trip (and i was getting my open water there) i told my husband to be that i "don't want this to be a dive vacation!!!!!) i was so amazed by the dives early in the week that i told him i wanted to do more. there is plenty of activities or just hanging out and relaxing to be done at breezes, curacao. it's a great place whether you dive or not. i think it's considered as a "resort that has diving" as opposed as a "resort FOR diving' . there's a difference. it just depends on what you want.
we planned to go there because I WASN'T SURE i wanted to dive every day.....it happened that i wanted to.
hope this helps
