Is it safe in Cozumel?

My family and I are would love to go back to Cozumel this May to dive but concerned about the drug wars and safety in Mexico. If anyone has been there recently please let me know if it still the same old Cozumel. Thanks!!

I was there last week and walked alone all over the town and never had a problem or felt unsafe in any way. I wouldn't say it's the same old coz but the people I met where very friendly.

We, also, were in Cozumel last week and never once felt worried or concerned.

We were there last week as well. The only violence I encountered was having to drag my wife/dive buddy kicking and screaming onto the plane to go home. Hopefully we will be headed back to the dangerous place in late May.

We were all over town and did not see anything to cause us to be concerned.

It is still very safe, as a matter of fact I travel all over Mexico, Border, inland, coast, etc. including Laredo, Brownsville, McAllen, Never an issue, wonderful country.
