Bonaire Trip Report

Just arrived back to reality from a week in Bonaire.

Flew out of Houston on Continental. No problems at all with the flight. It worked out good because the plane was light, so everyone pretty much got there on row to stretch out on the catch some zzzz's.

Arrived in Bonaire at 5:30 am on Sunday. Rented trucks from Poppy at Telerin for the second time. Paperwork is a breeze, just a signature and then 1 minute later, your own your way. I can not say enough great things about Telerin rental.

Stayed at Bonaire Townhomes. Our host Benny, met us at the airport to show us the way to the house. We rented a one bedroom and a two bedroom bungalow. Bonaire Townhomes are located in quite residential area. There is only 4 bungalows, so we had alot of privacy. The gardens are very lush and tropical. Homes have fully equipped kitchens that have everything we needed during our stay, Also have wonderful patios with hammocks to catch some rest. There is also a large patio in the back to clean up all your dive gear in the afternoon. I will definatly stay at BTH again and would highly recommend. Benny, the owner, does everything he can, to make our stay enjoyable.

Noticed a little damage from Omar in the shallows, but not enough to really matter. All the dives were great.

I also got to try windsurfing this trip. Wish I would have tried sooner during the week, only got two days of practice in. Got a little bruised up, but will do again

Ate breakfast and lunch at the house. Dinner out was pizza at Pasa Bon and Captain Don's, KFC, City Cafe and my favorite meal was at Patagonia at the harbor. Also had a great milkshake at a place in Rincon called
Le-Ma-Se. (I think that is how you spell it!)

There is plenty of windsurfing on the TX coast and you don't have to give up great diving to enjoy it. Thanks for the report.
