Pensacola 15-19

Read the previous Pensacola thread, hope my trip has better weather. I am planning on diving the Oriskany of course. Hopefully my new Scubatoys order (Oceanic EOS) arrives before the trip. WIll try some of the shore diving as well. Maybe take a trip out to Morrison springs and see what Florida sprigns are like to dive.

well I hope you have good weather for your dives. I haven't dove Morrison Springs but I can tell you Vortex is good diving but usually lots of students so get there early like 6:30- 6:45 so you can get in at 7:00 when they open.

Vortex is kind of a 1 and done dive for me. In 1 dive, I felt like I saw the whole place twice minus the cave.

well, I have my name down for a 3-tank to the Oriskany on Thursday and a regular non-'O' 3-tank on Saturday. Spots are available on those (I think they need 4 to make the trip a 'go') if anyone was thinking about diving in that area at that time.

Good luck on the O trip. The weather plays a big part on that one. The week I went the three previous days were blown out and the following two were blown out. We got lucky.
I do agree with Vortex. If you go to the cave entrance at 100' you will probably turn and come back due to air supply. The eels at the entrance at 60' or so are pretty cool. We did it this time of year and there was nobody around. There was a rescue class on Saturday that we won't forget. We ended up asking someone on the grass if it was a class or not. The "injured" woman was a good actor.

I'll keep Vortex in mind. IF everything goes according to plan, it looks like we'll try to get a 3-tank trip on Thursday....2 to the 'O' and 1 to anohter wreck. Saturday, maybe a 3-tank.

If anyone out there is interested, there are spaces on those boats available....we need 4 to make the trip go.

Might help to post who you are diving with. Or post in the FL forum or whatever they have here.
