Hi, Everyone,
Just got back from an 8 day dive trip to Cozumel. Diving was great; weather was great; accommodations at Scuba Club Cozumel were also excellent. Saw no trace of swine flu, masks, etc. Only thing was they held an instrument up towards your ear to detect if you had a temperature upon arriving and leaving at the airport. According to the agent there - there were no reported cases of swine flu on the island. This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. There are no cruise ships in port right now and they are hungry for our business. It was great to have so much of Cozumel to ourselves! Hope you have a great time! |

Headed down in 4 weeks for a last minute vacation. Rates were amazing. Not sure how long the cruise ships will stay away, but it would be nice to be down there without them for once. I hate saying that though, since I know the residents need the tourism to make a living.

Yeah, we're pretty much the same ... don't stay in town, and when we do go in it's either when most of the ships have left, or in areas the cruisers don't go to back in the 'hood.

We generally wait to go into town until after they are back on board, but it would be nice to head into town for lunch on days that we're going to do shore dives later in the afternoon.

The ships will start to dock on June 5th. When the ships aren't in, its easier to move around downtown. With multiple ships in, its a nightmare trying to walk around or going to get something to eat. The flipside is that the locals need the ships to survive, so I cant get to upset.
