Morrisville, NC
I am in Morrisville this week, and I am looking to escape from work for a few hours maybe tomorrow or thursday, maybe friday morning, but I have a flight at 330pm, so i would be limited to 1 morning dive, not to deep if that is what turns up, anyone have any ideas / plans in the area, and know where i can rent some gear, cause retard me didn't bring my gear box.

How many hours are you talking about? It is only 2 hours to Wilmington! I'm sure some of the ops there do a single tank afternoon dive, but even better would be an offshore two tank dive. People speak highly of Aquatic Safaris there.
I don't do freshwater...but here is the quarry most folks go to in the area. It is northeast of Raleigh. Fantasy Lake Scuba Park As for dive shops to rent equipment, Diver Down may be the closest for you, it is close to the Raleigh/Apex border. Gypsy divers is to the east side of Raleigh, but if you are going to the coast or to the quarry it would not be too far out of your way. |

I would not go diving on Friday morning. You should wait at least 12 hours between diving and flying.

Recon, couldn't tell from your original post whether or not you have time to get to the coast for diving. You also have to consider that the better dives are 2 hours or more offshore.
I dive mostly out of Morehead, which is a 3 hour drive. The offshore charters usually leave 6:30 am and are back 4 ish. The dives are deep, so your no fly time matters even more in these circumstances. I would recommend Discovery, Diver Down, or Olympus. Wilmington is closer, but I don't dive there. Again, Aquatic Safaris is the op I hear most people speak of. Good luck! Lulu |
