Indonesian Airlines still banned by the EU
Indonesian Airlines like Garuda, Lion and Garuda are still banned within the EU http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/list_en.htm this is from an updated list on April 8, 2009.

For starters, that sucks. I noted the veiled unbrella of "Safety", I wonder what reason(s) the EU considers them "unsafe"? I also can't help but wonder if there is a political motivation behind the decision.

From someone I talked to who is in the tourism department of Indonesia....They are not computerized like most countries are in their aviation bureaucracy....They will get requests in from countries requesting info on the Airlines and it goes into a pile....and when they respond they respond.
