Keys Bound

Family and I are headed for the Keys tomorrow to visit the old stomping grounds & friends. Plan to get in a bit of diving and fishing too. Can hardly wait to immerse in those warm clear waters and harvest a few bugs!

This is the right time. Viz from Jupiter to Palm Beach at least has been 100ft. Water temps mid 80's, seas less than 2 ~flat and air temps are becoming ever more pleasant.

Soon will be the "happy times". Warm water and cool surface temps.

Don't know if it is true or not, but heard that the price of tails has been a bit depressed so the fewer commercial guys are going out. The rec folks have been doing well.

TJDiver, Hope you have as good conditions as us. 2' Seas, Vis. 50' - 60', 80° water temps, hot humid 90° air temps, and the obligatory scattered afternoon showers. Just perfect!

Oh, and don't forget the post dive cold beer.

Nice pic! Just a question: How does Landshark taste? Is it like Corona? I like mine with lime, is it similar?

Like Corona, but in my opinion a better taste. Yep, like it with a lime too, but we forgot to throw them on the boat; bad Juju, not to mention the scurvy!

Nice! haven't tried doing that with my Tevas yet. Landshark is not twist off, so don't forget the "church key" or Reef sandals apparently!

Thanks Coastie. The data bouys I've checked show water temps in the low to mid 80's. Just checked weather.com, and it shows upper 80's, with the obligatory 30% scattered t-storms. As for vis, my son has never dove anything other than East TN quarries, so anything will be an improvement I'm sure. I'm just hoping for fairly calm seas for his first ocean dives.

As for the beer...we have waterfront lodging on the Gulf side of Conch Key...sunsets 'n beer are definitely in our plans. Leaving in the morning.
