Headed for Roatan???
International flights to restart in Honduras
www.chinaview.cn TEGUCIGALPA, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Honduran authorities decided Thursday to restart the domestic and international flights at the four airports of the country, Ricardo Maradiaga, manager of the Aeropuertos de Honduras company, concessionaire of the four airports, said that the company received the official notification to restart these flights. Maradiaga said that airlines will restart their flights on Friday and the operations will be completely normal by Saturday. These flights were suspended Monday after the return of ousted president Manuel Zelaya, and the four airports have been under the control of the Honduran Air Forces. But Alfredo San Martin, director of the Honduran Civil Aeronautics Direction, said Thursday morning that the airports were only open for domestic flights for the time being. The four airports of Honduras are Toncontin in Tegucigalpa, Ramon Villeda Morales in San Pedro Sula, Goloson in La Ceiba and Juan Manuel Galvez in Roatan Island.

Flying from the US to Roatan is pretty expensive right now, I'm guessing because visitors see it as more desirable to fly there than the mainland. Flights from the US to San Pedro at least have been dirt cheap for quite awhile. (Been all too aware of this, as I've got a trip to Utila upcoming and have gotten jerked around by schedule changes and flight cancellations a few times.)
