Catalina is a great dive location, no doubt.

Seaport Village is definitely the most diver-friendly hotel on the island.

CDS is a nice little operation... I'm glad to have the resource on the island. Yes, everything costs a bit more than mainland prices, but I'd like someone to show me an island vacation destination (US only, please, 3rd world countries don't count) where this is NOT the case.

I have not dove Catalina in about 8 years....But I always liked the Summer. I was lucky when I dove there vis was usually 80'+ and the waters around 60' or 70' was in the mid to low 60's....that is why I have not been back...LOL.

Fall offers the best vis, and winter offers the best vis plus the kelp starts to grow back. (high summer heat kills it off, and it's looking pretty ragged around now).

I prefer cooler topside temps for diving, personally.
