Yep saw a few more Pigmy seahorses, clownfish and nudis in Wackatobi....but not enough to make me go back.

So were you joking when you said you were canceling your trip to Lembeh to dive the Fredriksted pier instead?

Absolutely not...but the problem is I've already paid for Lembeh and in less than 3 weeks...I'll be diving there....know anyone who could take the trip off my hands?....I know you would not be interested as I am staying at Lembeh Resort!

Well you know they have they documented 98 different species of fish alone at the Fredriksted pier. Although I only saw 92.

I saw at least 74 that is why I ran out of Air twice and had to swim back to the boat.....You know if I could unload Lembeh....and the water is still warm at the pier in St Croix....Hmmm...decisions decsions.

So the OP said he is flying to Bali, and asked for recommendations, and was immediately bombarded with suggestions for OTHER places to go? What's wrong with you people?

Or am I the one who missed something?

Bali offers fantastic diving. Spend a few days in Padang Bai, doing some boat dives over to Nusa Penida. See the Mantas, see the shark cave, see the Canyon, and see the artificial reef at Jepun. We dove with Absolute Scuba and I can definitely recommend them as a fantastic operator.

Then cruise around the coast to Amed, and check out the Japanese Fishing Boat wreck. Don't let them talk you into seeing the artificial reefs they're trying to get going, though... you won't be impressed. Maybe someday, but as of June these were the most boring dives of my whole trip, by far.

Finally, spend a bunch of time in Tulamben, diving the Liberty Wreck, Seraya, Kubu, and Drop Off. Also, the "Coral Garden" site right in front of the Paradise resort. Mostly the wreck, though.

Other than Absolute Scuba in Padang Bai, we dove with AquaMarine Diving. If you dive with AquaMarine, ask for Aan or Janri as your guide... both were truly fantastic guides!

Bali has some of the most spectacular diving I've seen in the world, and the majority of it is super easy shore diving. Love it!

Being beluga is going for around 3 weeks and asked "Haven't got anything else booked yet. I've read some of the recent threads and would appreciate any ideas or recommendations." that is a long way to fly to hang in Bali for 3 weeks when you have places like Ambon, Lembeh Strats, East Timor, Raja Ampat etc that you could spend a week or so at.

Is this the trip report? little short but good info.

LOL

Not yet. My sister's wedding is finally over, and I'm not longer deathly ill, so I'm hopeful to return to things this week...
