Question LAX?

Friends told us that there is a lot of construction going on at LAX. We're going to be arriving there via American Airlines to connect for a flight to Fiji on Air Pacific.

I'd appreciate any tips on directions to get to our AP flight as we don't have a long layover.

I think you can download a map of all the LAX terminals from their website. And the AP terminal (international terminal) is probably within walking distance.

Well as much as I hate to agree with Art he is right you can download a map of the LAX terminals. I think AA is right next door to the international terminal. Since you said you don't have a long layover I would check my bags all the way to Nadi when you originally check in. AA and Air Pacific have a baggage agreement and I've done this before and had no problem. When you arrive proceed directly to the international terminal and check in. Once you check in don't delay getting into the security lines as some times they move quite slow.

What? where did you hear that?....they always have some remodeling going on (thank god) depending on the terminal and the Thomas Bradley terminal is to (maybe voting on it tomorrow) under go a major remodel in the next couple of years (again a major thank god)...but someone is saying a bunch of nonsense (i have a better word for it...LOL).

It's good to know we can check our bags all the way thru with American. We do have a direct flight so that should help reduce the chance of lost luggage.
-Thanks

Priorty Pass rated LAX as the #3 worst airport in the world for major airports....LAX did pass a $1.3 billion improvement for the Bradley terminal so there is hope!

It's number 1 in my book cause I pass thru it the most. I also hate MIA and IAH. BTW who did they rank worst then LAX?

Just got back from Fiji 2 weeks ago and went through LAX. Yes there is construction going on in the international terminal that you will go to but it's not a big deal... unless you want to go and get something to eat after you check in.

I know that AA does codeshare with AP but am not sure if you will actually be able to check your bags trough from where you originate or if you will have to re-check them back in at LAX. If you do have to pick them up and check them back in then you will need to just go out the door after you pick them up and head to the outer island... just ask someone at the door... and then you get on the terminals C bus. It circles all the terminals every few minutes so it's not a long wait before one comes along.

If you are able to check your bags all the way through then you can either go straight out the door to catch the bus or walk out the door, turn right and keep on walking until you reach the correct terminal to check in.

IMHO... I have jumped from most of the major (and not so major) airports for international flights and LAX, MIA and IAH are my least favorites!

Okay I've checked my bag twice from Denver on AA when traveling on AP so you should be able to do this regardless of where you are coming from.

Secondly and more important AA is in terminal 4 and it's a LEFT turn and one building over to the Tom Bradley International Terminal. If you turn right you will have to walk around the whole airport. When you return to LAX from Fiji then it's a right turn when exiting the International Terminal. Do a search and find a map of LAX you will see who is right(left).
