my current agent, lost our last 1 of many yrs, retired, recommended them, said it would save money. dunno,
To us, trips are about effortless travel, and spending money !When I found the flight I wanted, pushed purchase, and it kicked me to the airline home site. Not sure about booking my own tickets though ![]() Gonna go lool at Kayak now, thanks

I use kayak alot. I don't think it sends you alerts though like the site you listed but it gets prices from all the other sites(airlines, expedia, orbitz, etc...)

Even though I am in the travel business (part-time as an independent agent) there are times when I can get even better pricing for international fares through wholesalers since they pre-negotiate blocks of tickets. Also, mainly for international fares, depending on where in the world I am going to I have full-time agents that I book through... they can usually get me the best deal and are able to assist with other arrangements as well when I get to my final destination. For domestic travel, I always book online through kayak or the airline's site.

Other good sites besides Kayak are Bing.com's travel which is very similar to Kayak but also estimates for you whether or not you should buy or hold off on the ticket price and tells you how much they figure you can stand to save/lose. For hotels, rental cars I've had good luck with Hotwire - if you don't do a package, they won't tell you the precise name just a general area of the hotel you will stay at until after you booked but I've got some pretty sweet rates and always been happy with where they put us. If you really are curious though, there are sites that try to help in figuring out which hotel it'll put you in. |

I have used Yapta and Kayak for the air portion of my trip....Yapta notifies me when the price has gone down or up...when I hit purchase it takes me to he airlines website where I continue booking my flights....Kayak is a great airlines search engine for flights....will give you every flight going to where you are going....there is also Bookit.com and sidestep.com...
