Cozumel East Side

I have done several dive trips in Cozumel, but never have done any dives on the east side of the island. Does anyone recommend diving the east side? Is the current stronger?

I've never dove the east side either but, from going to Mezcalitos and looking out, I think one would have to have a large boat since the wind and waves are moving strong on that side. I haven't heard about anyone diving the east side.

There is a side bar to a story about Cozumel pertaining to the east side in the Oct. issue of Scuba Diving Mag. Looks interesting.
