My wife just suggested a Disney cruise, they know how to entertain children AND you could still get some diving in.

How/what are Disney crusies? Would I end up with 4 chumming children hanging over the side?

No, Disney has a Cruiseship line, large ships like Carnival or Norwegian.
I suppose if were really rough you could get seasick.

All Inclusives are the way to go with kids. Most have "kid camps". They are a bit more pricey but worth every penny. There is a place in Jamacia called FD Resorts and then there are the "Beaches" resorts, Beaches cost a ton of money. Cancun has some good AI resorts also, plus Cozumel is getting more. I think you might be able to get better airfare than 1200 bucks.

I know in Roatan that Anthony's Key has a dolphin program for the kids. I saw tons of families there.

I agree with DevilDiver
Cozumel or Cancun Playa Del Carmen are all recovering from hurricane damage quickly and need the money so they will have some real deals. The Mexicans recover faster than any others from storms!

There are houses or all inclusives

I stayed in Casa Las Flores - great house and great price - at Christmas it will be a little high but the island is warm and worth it... check out gocozumel.com
